Five children Santosh (Som, deceased), Nutan (Murari), Narinder (Jyoti), Rajinder (Rachna) and Ashok (Kiran).
Nine grandchildren Sujay Kaushal and Sujata Kaushal (Santosh/Som), Kirti Kaushal (Nutan/Muari), Rimcy and Rajni (Narinder/Jyoti) Natasha (Rajinder/Rachna), Ashleen, Ashley and Alicia (Ashok and Kiran).
Five great grandchildren – Akash (Sujay/Neha), Ananya and Ameya (Sujata/David), Diya and Arman (Kirti/Dinesh)
Preceeded in death by: Son-in-law Som Nath Kaushal
Education: He obtained a Gold medal and full scholarship in high school for obtaining the highest grades in the state. He received a BA in English from University of Punjab (Lahore during the British Raj) in 1945. After India gained its independence in 1947, he settled in Amritsar, Punjab, India.
Employment: He pursued a successful career as Octroi Superintendent with Municipal Committee, Amritsar Corporation, Amritsar.
He loved walking, reading, and teaching. He took pride in tutoring his children and grandchildren.
After his retirement in 1992; he immigrated to the United States and became a US citizen in 1997. He has been an active member of the Greenfield community for over 20 years. He enjoyed volunteering for associations such as – Hope House of Greenfield, Boys and Girls Club, Shares, and Head Start.
His contributions were recognized by the Mayor of Greenfield (Patricia Elmore) several times.
